These associates do everything from delivering packages and purchasing supplies to assembling aviation panel mounts and ensuring our large shipments of goods are exported according to applicable international laws. We are looking for a full-time Manager, Facility Maintenance at our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will manage cross-functional technical building facilities and construction projects for various locations, including project budgets, contracted services and purchasing, maintenance and operations tied to facility needs, and providing a seamless interface with internal Garmin associates through leadership, responsiveness, and creativity. Other essential functions include:

Ensure day to day operations of the facility, including custodial, site services, and general maintenance are implemented and carried out in a manner consistent with Garmin’s policies
Manage general service contracts to ensure they are reviewed and bid out as required; verifying invoicing matches contractual pricing
Respond positively and promptly to requests from building occupants
Oversee the implementation of ongoing programs to assess associate needs and ensure problems are promptly resolved
Develop site specific programs and procedures as directed
Lead multiple complex, cross-functional projects simultaneously with either internal teams or consultants by keeping on budget, effectively managing change orders and ensuring timelines are met
Ensure all functions remain on schedule and issues are escalated and resolved with the projects meeting successful completion

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering, facilities, business management or a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facility Management as examples) from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 10 years work experience performing substantially similar essential functions such as project management, construction, maintenance, safety and security activities. Other requirements include:

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Must possess a minimum of three years previous leadership experience with a proven track record in effective project management, team leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively coach and mentor
Must possess previous facilities’ project management experience with managing construction project budgets
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Demonstrate financial experience with the ability to calculate cost benefit analysis and ROI
Demonstrate proficient knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
Candidates with Technical Facility certification are highly preferred!
