The Area Director of Dining Services assists in the development and implementation of the Dining Services program for their respective regions. This includes policy and procedures as well catering and special diet programs.
To ensure Elmcroft communities obtain optimal performance and compliance with State regulations and company policies by educating the community personnel in the specifics of State regulations, company policies, and company performance expectations. Following budgetary guidelines and conducting internal quality audits on all aspects of food service.
Supports Elmcroft resident retention goals by serving as a resource for community Dining Services Directors.
Provides advice and counsel on Dining Services matters to the Communities and supervisory operational management.
Ensures Elmcroft communities achieve optimal performance by identifying problems and or deficiencies, creating action plans, educating staff, and implementing solutions to operational issues in some of all areas stated below
Prepares operational and Dining Services reports for management analysis.
Ensures that meals are prepared according to menu and recipes followed. Ensures food is prepared in a nutritional, appetizing fashion, and presented in an attractive manner.
Trains community personnel who participate in carrying out the Dining Services programs. This includes food ordering, preparation, presentation, meeting budgeted goals, meeting residents special needs and dining room service.
Participates in producing and overseeing catering events.
Provides input to communities needed to correct negative trends.
Assists Executive Directors in interviewing and determining the qualifications of the community Dining Services Director.
Performs internal quality audits on all aspects of food service.
Plans and participates in educational programs, to assure our communities are receiving the proper training and education required by the state as well as the needs of the employees.
Interacts with state regulatory personnel, as needed, to clarify issues or seek guidance.
Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
Maintains working knowledge of all assigned state regulations.
Participates in career building seminars specific to the assisted living industry to enhance personal knowledge for improved work performance results.
Demonstrates an understanding of compliance and ethics program policies and procedures.
Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.
Maintains appropriate degree of confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned and which relate to the success of Elmcroft and the Care, Comfort, and Happiness of our residents.

Degree in Food Service Mgt. Or Nutrition
Computer experience with word processing.
Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred.
