Public Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to manage daily administrative operations for a fast paced, growing division within the firm. You will be a part of the top executive team reporting directly to the head of the largest division which includes over 400 staff and another 350 staff within a wholly owned subsidiary.
The expectation is to ensure the smooth running of business according to established policies and vision.
Oversee division administrative services including: finance, Project Management, Project Compliance, Communications, Human Resources, Proposal Center, and Government Affairs.
Manage the development and administration of the budget, revenue and expenditure forecasts of funds needed for staffing, subcontractors and other outside services; directs and approves expenditures. in accordance with policy; and directs the preparation and implementation of budgetary adjustments as necessary. Prepare and present organizational performance metrics.
Manage the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies and priorities within established guidelines, appropriate service and staffing levels
Prepare and recommend long-range plans for programs and develops specific proposals for action on current and future needs
Provide value and input in business and strategic planning.
Collaborate with colleagues to implement policies and develop improvements.
Organize and coordinate inter- and intradepartmental, cross functional operations.
Provide guidance to subordinate staff and evaluate performance
Build and maintain diverse teams that value and respect the thoughts of others
Responsible for timely reporting to senior management or regulatory agencies
Assist in other corporate or practice area initiatives (e.g. participate in corporate subcommittees, lead training), as assigned.
Take strong initiative and lead innovation, and implement initiatives effectively.
Develop strong professional staff, provide feedback, guidance and opportunities for development.
Work in an honest, forthright manner while maintaining focus on the goals and objectives of the organization
Responsible for the hiring, directing, development, and discipline of employees including resolution of employee problems, addresses complaints, and establishment of the organizational culture
Promotes staff leadership and development, by encouraging creativity, ownership, and skill development
BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA is a definite plus.
Extensive senior level experience as an Administrative Officer and/or Senior leader of one or more departments including Human Resources (HR), Finance, Project Management, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), or similar position
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security).
Demonstrated ability to effectively hire, train lead a team.
Solid understanding of business functions (HR, finance, project management, compliance, etc.)
Knowledge of fiscal planning, budgeting and reporting.
Understanding of current developments in both the public administration and organizational development fields.
Contemporary management principles and supervisory practices.
Work independently and be self-driven but also be an effective team player.
Demonstrated team leadership by guiding collaborative efforts, direction and focus, while delegating authority appropriately.
Extensive experience in public sector management, preferably as an Administrator which has a wide diversity of cultural, political, and service issues is a plus.
