Technatomy is seeking a motivated, career, and customer focused Senior System Administrator to join our team in Fairfax, VA or remote, in support of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Identity and Access Management (IAM) program. The candidate will be responsible for providing level 3 solution support and technical troubleshooting for the management, configuration and migration of IAM products, particularly Tivoli TFIM/ISAM appliances, IBM DataPower and cloud-based virtual objects throughout the Development, SQA, Pre-Production and Production Environments. IAM Services comprise a number of COTS software products and custom code, which are cohesively integrated with multiple interconnected internal and external systems providing access and identity management services utilizing the Enterprise Services framework.

POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):
The Senior System Administrator shall have a broad background in data center management (build, administer, troubleshoot and support activities).

The qualified candidate must have in-depth experience supporting project managers, technical team leads, and other technicians with release management, software and system implementation activities

The Senior System Administrator shall provide development, deployment, administrative, and troubleshooting expertise for Tivoli TFIM/ISAM.Ability to perform these tasks with IBM DataPowers a plus.

Possessing a sense of urgency and attention to detail, demonstrates an ability to work within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and has excellent skills in Leadership, building relationships, communicating effectively at all levels with the customer and the support team, scheduling, and serving the needs of others. Most importantly, the candidate must be responsive and has a propensity to get things done.

Perform as part of a team that will be transitioning critical, cloud-based, customer-facing production systems from one service provider to another new service provider.


Strong knowledge and experience with IBM ISAM and TFIM policy configuration, application integration, deployment, and Troubleshooting

In-Depth experience with managing and supporting IBM Tivoli Federated Identity Manager (TFIM) and Security Access Manager (ISAM)

Proficiency in tuning, monitoring, load balancing, high-availability, and clustering

In-depth experience with web services with emphasis on security

In-depth experience with SSL troubleshooting, services instrumentation, monitoring, logging

Strong knowledge and understanding of Unix/Linux commands, JavaScript, and other scripting languages

In-Depth experience working with LDAP, SAML, Kerberos, web services and Representational State Transfer (REST) interfaces

Knowledge of Apache Tomcat

Knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across computing platforms

Ability to work some evenings and weekends(Team Support Services Requirements)

Mature approach with a focus on customer service, responsiveness, rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills

Ability to accurately document all activities, status, and resolution of issues

Excellent communication, fluent written and verbal English, including collaboration and customer service skills

Analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail

Have a reliable, cable or FiOS Internet Connection at home

Have a reliable voice communication service

Excellent analytical skills, creativity and flexibility regarding problem solving

Experience working in and with virtual global teams in a matrix organization

Strong experience with Data Center Operations best practices

Ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED by Prime/Customer/Technatomy:
Minimum 5 years professional experience

Experience within the Department of Veteran Affairs Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) environment

Experience with system, application, and data migrations to MS Azure and/or AWS Cloud platforms

Experience with DataPower AAA (Authentication, authorization, and Auditing)

Experience with system, application, and data support in Cloud environments – MS Azure, AWS, Google

Experience with VA OIT/PD software development lifecycle and processes

Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology
