Job Title: AmeriCorps Team Member
Service Term : September 1, 2018- July 15, 2019
Job Description: Through the placement of members in various youth-serving organizations in Pacific County we will reduce adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and increase resiliency of our community’s youth. Our host sites and their members will work towards this goal by utilizing multiple strategies; such as presenting healthy activities, educational opportunities, strong interventions, parenting education, financial literacy, family engagement, youth mentoring, tutoring, career exploration, etc.
Service Locations: Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach Peninsula, Crisis Support Network, First Lutheran Church of South Bend, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ocean Beach School District, South Bend School District, Coastal Community Action Program, Dispute Resolution Center, Grays Harbor College, and Peninsula Poverty ResponseBoys & Girls Club of Long Beach Peninsula, Crisis Support Network, First Lutheran Church of South Bend, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ocean Beach School District, South Bend School District, Coastal Community Action Program, Naselle School District, Dispute Resolution Center, Peninsula Active Learns, Grays Harbor College, and Peninsula Poverty Response
Program Benefits :
$1,307.82 monthly stipend
$5,920 education award

Position Requirements : Must be a U.S. Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
Must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to commit to 10 months of service and 40 hours per week (a total of 1800 hours).
Experience working with youth and a car is recommended.
Desired Skills/Abilities : The ability to communicate well verbally and in written format, to connect with youth and their families, to work in a team or independently, to meet deadlines, to be well organized and follow directions, recruitment skills, a passion for serving youth, leadership abilities, knowledge of youth development, teaching/tutoring skills, conflict resolution skills, public speaking skills, basic computers and technology knowledge and skills.
