Customer Support Operations BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – US Military Customer (#10310) Job Location: Alabama SUMMARY Responsible for increasing market share and retaining existing aftermarket business for assigned customers. Provides on-site customer support and marketing coordination at multiple military or OEM customers of moderate complexity operating or servicing Parker Aerospace products. Responsible for managing customer relationships by following up on issues and opportunities through frequent communication and ensuring the highest level of customer service. Acts as Lead Manager for the United States military customer and any associated programs within that area of expertise. Works closely with our business development representatives on strategic plans for a US military branch. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Leads, develops, and executes short and long term growth strategy for customers within the US collocated primes, piers, and sub-vendors. Maintains relationships with key industrial companies to include competitors. - Extensive network within customers; acts as liaison between Parker and customer able to interact at multiple different levels within customers relaying information to key Parker divisions. 2. Subject matter expert on public private partnerships and US government process to incorporate programs. Collaborates with a segment of Government Business Offices within the US military to identify strategic plans to implement results and long term agreements. 3. Has extensive knowledge of US military procedures, protocol, and policies to include responsibilities and daily activities for various US military customer locations and entities, and foreign military customers as applicable. 4. Parker Aerospace focal point with a vast knowledge and network for key military customers to include levels from Directors/Commanders through engineering/equipment specialists/item mangers/program managers to Depot repair shop chiefs. 5. Can successfully identify, develop, and act on business development strategies to include identification of new program opportunities, product improvement and retrofits, public private partnership, business case analysis, milestone chart requirements, and actions needed to move a program from concept to completion. 6. Understands and can assist in identifying shortfalls and developing fixes, both internally and externally, for the procurement process as it relates to stock listing products, reliability reporting, technical data updates and process flow, US Government supply chain, depot component process flow and scheduling, and availability of different US Government funds. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelors Degree (BA) in Marketing, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of increasingly responsible experience, including five or more years of high-level business development and established customer contacts, with major revenue or scope of responsibility. • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, industry practices, company products, technology, regulations, service capabilities, and policies related to marketing and business development for airline, and after-market customers. • Knowledge of program management, contracts, and business processes and procedures, including technical and business proposal development. • Knowledge of domestic and international customer budgeting and acquisition processes and procedures • Knowledge of FAA certification and PMA process and procedures. • Knowledge of competitors’ products and marketing efforts for potential teaming and alliances. • Ability to work on most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and/or incomplete data; understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective. • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and recommend changes to procedures. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to use standard business applications software. • Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and/or boards of directors. • Ability to translate customer desires and projected requirements into business development strategies and develop solutions to customer problems. • Ability to demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
