St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a RN to join our Radiation Oncology team.
The Registered Nurse for oncology triage is responsible for assessing patient needs over the phone and in person, working closely with Oncologists and Advanced Practice providers to coordinate care and support complex oncology patients. The Nurse will assess on-treatment patients for side effects; educate, perform and assist in procedural care and care coordination; plans, implements and documents nursing care and education based on patient’s needs. There will also be opportunity to work directly with physicians and mid-level providers in the primary nurse role to administer coverage for vacations, sick time and assist with high volume clinic appointments. Preferred experience would be in oncology, med/surg, ED, or urgent care. This is an exciting, team oriented, often fast-paced environment where it is important to have excellent assessment, communication and listening skills and the ability and interest to do in depth chart review. The St. Luke’s Cancer Institute clinics are dynamic full-service outpatient hematology/oncology treatment center offering chemo/bio/and radiation therapies. The St. Luke’s Cancer Institute RN is the keystone to the complex, high-quality, compassionate care the communities of southern Idaho and eastern Oregon have come to expect of our organization.
Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
Manages care of patients.
Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
