This is a part-time, adjunct teaching position from August 22- Dec 12, 2018 with the possibility of renewal in January 2019

Position Description

The Adjunct professor or instructor’s duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Teaching individual and group drum lessons to undergraduate music students
  • Performing with faculty ensembles
  • Assisting the Modern Music Department Faculty
  • Serving as a Juror for both regular and recital juries

All faculty and staff at Visible Music College will:

  • Develop student growth through artistic, spiritual, and academic formation
  • This position may include other duties incumbent upon the position as directed by the Modern Music Chair

Accountability

The Adjunct professor or instructor is accountable to Modern Music Chair and is evaluated each semester

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience

Ideal candidate will have

  • A commitment to Christ and a passion for Christian education
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred)
  • College teaching experience and strong teaching skills
  • Strong background in live performance and studio recording
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Populi college management system

Attracting students from all 50 states and over 20 countries, Visible Music College trains and equips musicians, technicians and business professionals in skill and character for service in church ministry and the music industry. Within a Christian discipleship model, our students get hands-on professional experience while earning an accredited bachelor degree.

Visible graduates work in ministry as well as the broader music industry. In ministry jobs, they’re employed at churches as worship leaders, music directors and audio technicians. In the music industry, they’re affecting popular culture managing record labels, marketing music venues and becoming pop artists. We’ve recently had students as finalists on NBC’s The Voice and American Idol.

The vision of Visible Music College includes establishing intimate, Christian artist communities of about 140 students per campus. In addition to the original campus in Memphis, TN, Visible opened their second campus in August of 2014 in the Chicago area. In Aug 2016, Visible opened their third campus in Dallas.
