You will serve as a DENTAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN in a Medical division of the NMRTC BEAUFORT SC.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
You will fabricate and construct dental prosthetic appliances.
You will utilize dental laboratory materials such as impression materials, plasters, stones, hydrocolloids, waxes, metals, acrylics, porcelain, and similar materials.
You will operate dental laboratory equipment such as hand tools, dental lathes, engines, hand pieces, furnaces, casting machines, presses, flasks, and related equipment.
You will utilize dental laboratory precision instruments such as articulators, surveyors, and micro-analyzers.

IAW BUMEDINST 6230.15, health care employees who have direct contact with patients may receive appropriate immunization against communicable diseases unless a current immunization, protective titer, or medical exemption is documented.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Designing fixed or removable dentures for patients with acute abnormalities by available resources such as maxilla-mandibular records
Constructing fixed or removable single unit and multiple unit dentures
Utilizing special equipment (such as occlusal schemes, surveying, and milling instruments) to aesthetically simulate natural tooth structure
Disinfecting area and materials in compliance with OSHA

Or Successful completion of one and a half years (27 credit hours) of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for GS-8. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable (i.e. where education can be substituted for experience).
