OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
HealthCare Partners is seeking a purchasing agent to support our materials management team throughout Southern California.
- Open to entry level candidates.
Primary work hours are Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM.
Responsible for performing duties involving procurement of medical and non-medical supplies and equipment, management of open purchase orders and exceptions, and processing appropriate documentations from order to payment.
Provides primary support for upgrading, maintaining and troubleshooting the online requisition system ReQlogic
Procures medical and non-medical supplies and equipment.
Maintains general knowledge of medical/surgical supplies, office supplies and other supplies used by the medical group.
Understand the source of costing-Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), direct negotiated costing, and non contracted costing
Understand of basic purchasing economy
Expedites the purchase of supplies requested through purchase requisitions and Departmental order guides within 24 hours.
Follows-up on all backorder items and finds alternative supplies when necessary.
Provides information as requested by departments regarding items on backorder or errors in Shipping.
Consults with department managers regarding product availability and researches alternative Sources.
Returns materials as required for credit or exchange to suppliers.
Resolves receiving and vendor invoice discrepancies. Follows-up with Account Payable Department for proper payment.
Support Mail Room activities when assigned
Performs additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Includes special certification required for specific jobs.
Associate’s degree preferred
Over 1 years and up to and including 3 years of experience.
Experience in Procurement system.
1 year experience in the procurement of materials, supplies and equipment in the healthcare field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Proficient in the use of Materials Management database software.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
