We are a growing urology practice actively seeking for a qualified candidate to help us deliver great care to all of our patients. We are looking for a multi-talented medical assistant who is able to perform phlebotomy while being knowledgeble in insurance verification. This team member must be highly personable, possess a strong work ethic, and great customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Answer and effectively handle telephone inquiries.
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Greet patients immediately upon their arrival and provide excellent customer service.
- Room patients and get their medical history
- Assists with patient appointments by performing phlebotomy (including capillary and venous draws), urine collection, and other related lab work
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Get Prior Authorizations for medications and procedures.
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Verify patient's insurance and benefits
- Call Insurances for Prior authorizations
- Verify patients have necessary referrals when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven working experience with insurance verification.
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in Google office suite and patient management software (office EMR used: CharmEHR)
- Phlebotomists should be trained and proficient in venipuncture for the collection of blood samples.
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time.
- Previous Urology Experience is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
