Job Overview Qualcomm is a leading provider of wireless and wired technologies for the mobile, networking, computing and consumer electronics markets. This is a senior level firmware role within the WLAN Hardware Systems Validation and Integration team in San Jose. Role involves hands on Firmware code development and validation. The Senior Staff Engineer will be required to drive FW development of Qualcomms wireless connectivity solutions. He/she will be an important member of a cross-functional global team, working closely with engineers from the digital design, Algorithms, Software, design verification and HW architecture. Tasks include developing FW, functional testing using emulation/simulation platforms prior to chip tape out as well as following chip arrival. This lead firmware engineer will be required to mentor junior employees, analyze radio performance to include over the air behavior and optimize the code to meet key performance metrics.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience in developing low level and latency critical firmware. Experience in wireless radio MAC or PHY Firmware is preferred.
Hands on experience in Radio debugging and software performance issues.
Knowledge of wireless industry standards with preference to including IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax
Excellent programming/scripting skills in C/C++
Experience in Perl /Python is preferred.
Self-driven individual who can work independently.
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.
