TrestleTree is a Fayetteville, Arkansas based health transformation company, focused on reducing healthcare cost and improving the health of entire populations. We were founded in 2001 to provide comprehensive health behavior change services to employers, health plans and Taft-Hartley plans. TrestleTree is a Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Family Company. VP-CIO position requires residence in or relocation to Northwest Arkansas.

Summary:

The Chief Information Officer provides strategic vision, leadership, and direction for the development, planning, and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development. He or she will also provide oversight and direction to IT and business leaders on strategy, design, and implementation of the best applications and processes to achieve business goals while aligned with the technology principles. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s information technology and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Deep knowledge of Networking, Software Development, Project Management, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Operations, Vendor Management, Service Delivery, AWS cloud services, Elixir, and Strategic Planning
  • Strong experience in data security including but not limited to the HIPPA privacy rule and protected health information (PHI)
  • Experience successfully envisioning and defining strategic plans and leading transformation initiatives
  • Support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site client-server environment
  • Strong understanding of data processing methods and procedures, computer software systems; systems design and development process, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation, and operational management
  • Significant experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Able to translate complex technology concepts and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong business and financial acumen, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to create a clear strategic vision for information technology that supports business objectives, and can execute on that vision
  • Able to work collaboratively with diverse leaders (including subsidiaries), communicate an IT vision and strategy across all levels of the organization and build consensus around key initiatives and projects
  • Experience leading complex major change initiatives and demonstrated skills in change management
  • Build strong technology vendor partnerships and able to manage multiple vendor relationships to ensure the best performance and financial return
  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and development
  • Manage, assess and communicate risks associated with Business and IT change activities
  • Develop, track, and manage the information technology annual operating and capital budgets
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for Business IT spending and initiatives
  • Approve, prioritize, and manage projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the, development, and implementation of major business or information systems initiatives
  • Ensure IT system operation and data management practices adhere to applicable laws and regulations
  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices
  • Supervise, development, retention, and organization of all technology staff in accordance with corporate performance, budgetary objectives and personnel policies

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in the design and development of commercial applications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a managerial role, including the management of development and infrastructure resources
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent work experience and knowledge
  • Advanced experience with developing strategic plans for application development, maintenance, and deployment
  • Extensive experience in managing IT projects and budgets
  • Strong attention to detail, logical/critical thinking and analysis skills is required
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of management, staff, customers, and vendors
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to develop department-level strategic plans and contribute to larger enterprise strategic plans
  • Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and communications skills. Ability to respond to constantly changing circumstances, work under short deadlines and handle a necessarily ambiguous role.
  • Skilled in fostering teamwork and able to mentor/develop staff
