What You’ll Get to Do:
o Strong experience with customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues.
o Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
o Strong experience installing and configuring COTS software applications.
o Strong experience with securing systems following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (NIST 800-53, FISMA, etc.), and negotiating/working-with IA personnel to arrive at sensible and effective solutions.
o Strong experience creating operational plans for management and clients.
o Strong experience developing and implementing process, procedures and standards to meet a “high-high-high” security standard.
o Proven demonstrated experience innovating solutions to meet technical challenges as well as improving existing implementations.
o Successfully demonstrated experience in technically aiding other teams, groups, or departments with technical assistance on an adhoc, short notice, short duration timeline. (being able to pivot from one technical area to another).
o Successfully demonstrated experience coaching and training other technical team members without them being direct reports.
o Ability to demonstrate knowledge relating to recent (within the past 3 months) of major security announcements, situations, changes that show you are keeping up with known official sources.
o In-depth system admin level understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments (MCSE or RHCE equivalence).
o Experience with ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Azure Boards, Azure Pipelines and Azure Repos (You will be expected to be expert level on these things soon and fast).
o Experience creating and analyzing PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, JAVA based, YAML and/or Python scripts – basically you need to know how to connect things for automation needs.
o Experience with enhance data protection and compliance. (e.g. OpenSSL, Keystores, Azure Key Vault, etc.).
o Relevant Technical and/or Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, CCNA-Security, etc.).
o University Degree (BS), or equivalent years of related experience, and additionally 7+ years of related IT engineering experience required.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
o US Citizenship required
o There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. However, for continued employment, you must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be clearable to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entrance on Duty (EOD) authorization.
o Requires mastery level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May serve as a subject matter expert within the organization. Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of related work experience.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
o Active DoD clearance preferred, but not required.
o Some experience with any or all of these products or technologies: MS SQL, Red Hat Satellite, Nagios, McAfee ePO, Tanium, IPSEC, ForeScout, CyberArk, Layer7 PAM, SailPoint, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Splunk, AMQP (RabbitMQ), Nessus suit, Swimlane, Qualys, SCCM, BigFix, MDM solutions, JIRA, GIT (again, nice to have, not required).
o Strong experience integrating and troubleshooting systems in a Linux environment (CentOS/RHEL preferred).
o Technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related subject area.
