Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Director with commercial experience in financial data solutions in Structured Finance to join our Fitch Solutions Ratings Data & Research (RDR) team in New York City. Expert knowledge of investor and/or bank workflows required. This role will work closely with the Product Development, Sales, Marketing and Market Intelligence teams in Fitch Solutions as well as colleagues in Fitch Ratings to facilitate revenue growth from our ratings data and credit research business. Activities will be based on four functions: 1) Owning the product strategy and development for ratings data and research for the Structured Finance sector 2) Working with Sales to support commercial discussions to bring in new clients and to retain and cross-sell to existing clients 3) Collaborate with Fitch Ratings to facilitate development and distribution of ratings data and research to help meet both Fitch Solution and Fitch Ratings business objectives, and 4) Develop thought leadership to build the Fitch Solutions brand as a leading provider of credit intelligence solutions.
Responsibilities include:
New Product Strategy
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the workflow, trends, and challenges for each relevant RDR user group
Assess and develop insights on the competitive landscape
Develop strategies for new product development
Conduct build/partner/buy analysis and make recommendations for inorganic plays
Develop business cases for new product investments
Identify strategic partners to either consume our content or provide new content into our platform and lead commercial discussions to drive product integration
Develop new product positioning (relevant user, user challenge, and how its solved) to Product Management in order to create detailed use scenarios for developers
Develop and own the execution of the Go to Market Strategy of new product releases and major enhancements
Provide Marketing with clear articulations of the user challenge and product value proposition to feed marketing collateral
Product Maintenance and Customer Experience
Maintain visibility into research and product pipeline within Fitch Ratings
Own the curation and display of Ratings research and products
On FitchConnect
Via newsletters/email campaigns
Track customer engagement and usage (FC views, email opens/clicks) and adjust display/distribution accordingly
Liaise with Fitch Ratings to collect feedback on curation and display of content
Conduct win/loss analysis to understand short falls in the product
Solicit client feedback on existing products and product ideas
Commercial Strategy
Define packaging and pricing of RDR products for relevant client types, working with Commercial Policy
Sales enablement
Develop Fitch Ratings’ product value proposition in Solutions context including the articulation of market opportunities creating need for Fitch Solutions products and Fitch Solutions key areas of differentiation
Work closely with colleagues in Sales to achieve new logo, cross sell and retention goals
Assist marketing with the development of case studies, value propositions, user personas
Design and deliver internal training sessions for sales professionals
Develop and maintain an inventory of client presentations/pitch material
Industry Thought Leadership
Participate in external conferences, events and media opportunities to build the Fitch Solutions brand as a leading provider of solutions to debt investment and credit risk professionals
Write and contribute to write papers and marketing articles to communicate Fitch Solutions’ views on the financial data and technology industry and build our brand
Position Requirements:
7+ years of experience in the Structured Finance sector; such experience likely to come from having worked within investment or commercial banking, the capital markets, or a rating agency. Expert knowledge of investor and/or bank credit market workflows. Commercial experience required.
Excellent personal and professional network within the financial markets and understanding of key market trends, etc.
Prior success in end-to-end product launches
Client coverage experience preferred
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate market trends to clients and prospects and connect their needs with actionable Solutions provided by Fitch
Manages by influence both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to travel as required
