Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction required to plan, communicate, purchase and monitor supplier / internal resource requirements to ensure timely and cost effective receipt of required material, storage management, and efficient on time delivery of finished product to the customer. Responsibility / Activity:
Develop, manage and motivate a logistics team consisting of a buyer/planner, warehouse supervisor, receiving and supplier compliance.
Monitors shipping/receiving performance and investigates discrepancies to resolve/eliminate process deficiencies.
Supervises the full utilization and accuracy of facility Warehouse Management system. Analyzes inventory variances, identifies root causes of discrepancies and provides effective corrective action.
Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement and inventory control functions.
Provide professional development for all materials team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures.
Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier evaluation, and supplier capacities.
Ensure all master data is accurate and maintained according to company guidelines for the Logistics department
Maintain all company directed KPI’s aligned with team responsibilities.
Budget for Logistics Department.
Lead and manage logistic service providers. Tactical and strategically supervision of the domestic and global inbound supply chain in consultation with Corporate Supply Chain Management in Germany.
Lead contact from local operations for Corporate Supply Chain Management. Active participation in annual logistic group meetings.
Operate appropriately within respective areas of the Quality Program

Knowledge & Skills: SAP – 3 to 5 years’ experience; modules: MM, SD, JIT Automotive Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) – 3 to 5 years’ experience Inventory Control and Root Cause Analysis – 3 to 5 years’ experience Negotiating skills Analytical cognitive abilities Ability to act in a self-confident and authoritative manner Become aware of the Quality Program Education: Minimum education requirement: Business degree preferred, or minimum 3 years related experience Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products Experience: 8 - 10 years supply chain, inventory and scheduling in a lean manufacturing environment using MRP 3-5 years lean manufacturing experience Leadership experience Working knowledge of supply chain related activities in SAP preferred Experience in a global manufacturing environment preferred Experience in direct customer and vendor contact Other Requirements & Working Conditions: Labor conditions:
Sporadically travelling – NAFTA and overseas
Working in office and warehouse area
