Job Summary:
The Senior Network-Server Administrator is responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of the network hardware and infrastructure, servers and related operating systems, and a 3rd level of desktop support. They will also help coordinate the task and duties of the Network Server admins. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Have good ‘people skills’, always being polite and courteous
- Install new servers and operating systems
- Install new network equipment
- Knowledge of Routing BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper switches
- Monitor, address, and document all assigned call tickets
- Monitor network utilization and make recommendations accordingly
- Monitor server utilization and make recommendations accordingly
- Monitor and maintain network security to expected levels
- Maintain backups on servers
- Maintain Wide Area Network
- Actively evaluate new technology as it relates to FGH
- Maintain a good working relationship with end users
- Assist Technical Support Analyst as requested
- Exhibit all qualities of the Forrest General Way
- Coordinate all duties and assignments of server admins
Performance Expectations:
Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and preceptor phases of your orientation to your job.
- Demonstrate the technical abilities to support network infrastructure
- Demonstrate the aptitude for including proper and timely documentation when creating, updating and closing a help desk ticket and/or task.
- Demonstrate technical aptitude for utilizing a remote access software to sign on, identify remote user session, connect to user session and monitor/assist user with workflow, and disconnect/signoff of remote session while speaking with end user via telephone
- Demonstrate technical aptitude for dealing with and troubleshooting multiple components of workflows Demonstrate the aptitude for completing CAB workflows (Regular/Safe/Emergency) including but not limited to accessing, reviewing, creating, updating, and approving a CAB request.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in computer science or equivalent
Work Experience:
Must have at least seven years combined experience in network and server administration.
Mental Demands:
Ability to solve problems logically. Must be able to take orders and follow directions. Must be able to work closely with others, and maintain a professional image at all times
