Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple Security Officer I/II positions, grades P-11/13 within the Office of the Chief/Building Security Command.
This position is that of a security officer designed to provide and maintain security at various county facilities and provides assistance and security to county employees and the visiting public.
Accountability Statement:
The incumbent in this position is authorized to carry out those duties and responsibilities in accordance with the established performance standards and is subject to reporting justifying task outcomes to those above him/her in the Department's chain of command. The incumbent in this position treats all information, administrative or operational, as strictly confidential, not to be disseminated in any form unless expressly authorized. The incumbent in this position is deemed "essential personnel" and is subject to re ort during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate.
What You'll Need:
High School diploma or GED, plus six (6) months experience as a Security Officer; or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, the candidate:
1. May be assigned shift work (days/evenings/weekends/holidays).
2. Must pass a drug screening.
3. Must successfully pass a background investigation.
4. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
5. This is an essential position. Essential employees are expected to report during standard
or non-standard hours as operations necessitate. Essential employees are expected to
report to work or remain at work when other County employees are granted administrative
leave.
