THE JOB: The Assistant Controller will support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient financial management. The Assistant Controller will also play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll

Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Calculates and reports monthly and quarterly commissions for the sales team

Performs monthly allocations to business units and prepares consolidated financial statements

Ensures compliance with internal financial policies and procedures, as well as external regulations and standards

Manages the annual audit process, organizing and fulfilling the requests, including liaising with external auditors

Supports the development and implementation of financial policies, systems, and procedures

Assists in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing detailed financial analysis and reports

Participates in and supports the annual strategic planning process for each business unit along with parent consolidation

Assists with the annual ESOP administration and repurchase obligation planning

Performs analysis and assists with due diligence related to M&A activities
-
Monitors and manages cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations
-
Conducts variance analysis and recommends corrective actions to improve financial performance

Mentors accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities
-
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned by the CFO
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience
-
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent
-
Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis
-
Experience with accounting software and financial management systems
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience in a manufacturing or technology company

Knowledge of GAAP

Experience with ERP systems

Supervisory experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
