This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates with 1+ years of experience.
As an Entry Level Accounting Specialist, a typical day to include the following:
Record, classify, summarize or audit financial transactions and data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and/or domestic tax code/law
Reconcile general ledger accounts comparing the payroll activity against the general ledger
Prepare bank reconciliations from comparison of payroll data vs. banking data leading to recognition of adjustments/actions needed to clear reconciling items
Reconcile funding activity at company and employee level to verify proper third party payments
Analyze gross to net payroll calculations for accuracy including tax withholding calculations
Review Payroll to General Ledger interface error reports and defensive queries identifying proper reclassifications for payroll entries
Responsible for all general ledger functions related to payroll processing, including but not limited to balancing accounts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on all general ledger related tasks
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Provide payroll accounting related problem (SR) resolution support and take appropriate steps to close the case (?)
Accountable for adherence to the various internal and external audits requirements
Work experience and knowledge of payroll GL and bank account reconciliations preferred
Demonstrate basic understanding of payroll transactions and the proper accounting treatment
Understanding of journal voucher preparation and their effect to the general ledger
Understanding of payroll cycle/calendar and data correction in relation to the general ledger
Knowledge and ability to perform payroll bank reconciliations and research
Ability to work independently and as a team
Ability to work under tight deadlines managing multiple tasks
Ability to work flexible hours required
Ability to interact with others in multiple locations: internally, externally, and globally
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
Knowledge and/or experience with a case management systems
Familiar with Alight CRM tools (Siebel, Service Connect, etc.)
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
BS Accounting preferred
