Vitus Energy is the holding company for Vitus's marine and terminal operations. The core of our business is managing the delivery of fuel from international and domestic sources to a wide variety of customers in Alaska. In addition, Vitus Energy sells gasoline and convenience products at retail stations

Position Summary:

The Store Manager reports directly to the Sr. Retail Operations Manager and is responsible for the profitable and efficient operations of Vitus' Cantwell facility. The incumbent will supervise, guide, assist, and/or step-in for facility staff as needed. The Store Manager is responsible to ensure the store is adequately staffed during company established hours and provides excellent customer service. A successful candidate is self-motivated, has advanced communication skills and is proficient in Microsoft Office.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages staffing requirements to ensure proper business practices and customer service
  • Manages cashiers and their respective work schedules
  • Ensures all employees are trained in the procedures and policies applicable to their position
  • Ensures facility is appropriately staffed during established hours and work schedule
  • Manages staff schedules
  • Collects staff timecards, reviews and approves/denies, submits to Anchorage for processing
  • Ensures cleanliness of facility is maintained
  • Ensures merchandising systems are maintained
  • Places vendor orders as required to maintain packaged goods inventory
  • Performs and assigns daily gas station inspections and maintains a file of such inspections
  • Maintains adequate fuel levels in gas station tanks and building heating oil tanks to prevent run outs
  • Ensures cash is properly reconciled on daily basis, communicates with Corporate accounting as necessary
  • Provides local customer support and assists in-store customer relations resolutions
  • Regularly communicates with Corporate Accounting team as necessary to maintain reconciliations and accountability

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Two (2) years related experience or training
