Medical Assistant
We are a busy dermatology practice seeking bright, personable medical assistants who enjoy being part of a great team and working with a friendly staff. Medical office experience is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets patients pleasantly and escorts from waiting room to exam/surgery room
- Takes patient histories and accurately and appropriately documents in patient's EMR, according to office policy
- Prepares patient and room for provider's exam/surgery
- Assists provider, as needed, in exam/surgery
- Responsible for patient education
- Responsible for proper handling and submission of biopsies per office protocols
- Under the direction of the provider, informs patient of biopsy results and schedules follow up treatments
- Maintains biopsy and malignancy logs, according to office policy
- Ensures adequate medical supply inventory and stocks clinical areas appropriately
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments, according to office policy
- Complies with Universal Precautions and OSHA Requirements
- Complies with all office policies and procedures to maintain confidentiality and integrity of each medical record
- Performs any and all other duties as required to provide optimal patient care

- Basic computer literacy
- Knowledge/experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred
- Ability to follow established office procedures, with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
- Required - High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Medical Assistant degree
- Preferred - RCMA/CCMA/CMA licensure
