Position Overview
Role works directly with site Operations leaders to drive EHS ownership and accountability. Role reports directly to the Safety Manager with frequent interaction and direction from the Safety Director. This position is a critical partnership between the Operations team and the EHS team to cultivate a behavior based safety culture.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides technical safety and health support and information to the site Operations team.
- Coordinates and delivers EHS training to employees.
- Responsible for execution of the site safety improvement plan.
- Performs risk assessments of site operations to determine risk and implement defenses to protect employees from uncontrolled risk.
- Manages all aspects of work place injuries and near misses. Including documenting incidents, leading incident investigation teams, determining root cause(s) and implementing corrective action(s).
- Participates in new product / process reviews including process hazard analyses, operator training, Job Safety Analysis, etc
- Experience in ergonomics and completing functional ergo assessments.
- Understands Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes as they occur.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelors or advanced degree, preferably in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, Environmental, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience in manufacturing operations
- Displays strong problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, NIOSH, ANSI, NEC, TCEQ, etc
