Job Summary

This position has a dual-function role for the company. While the Staff Accountant function is primary, this position also manages RELCO’s bi-weekly payroll. The primary function of this position is to provide information to the Controller. Responsibilities of this position include: maintaining and providing financial and accounting information to the Controller, providing contract administration on new and active open sales orders, overseeing administration functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivables, and daily general accounting functions, as well as managing the bi-weekly payroll process and payroll tax deposits.

The ideal candidate will need to have excellent analytical skills to review details on financial and accounting reports, demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness, maintain a high level of professional standards, and be able to multi-task effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accounts receivable billing and receipts, including managing the invoicing, AR aging report and contacting customers per RELCO’s protocol and applying AR payments.
  • Managing the payroll labor entry, following up with supervisors if needed to correct errors and ensuring hours are posted weekly in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the accounts payable process to ensure items are paid accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Sales order entry and contract administration.
  • Order costing.
  • Month end adjusting entries for RELCO, LLC and affiliated companies.
  • Preparation of month end draft reports and schedules for RELCO, LLC and affiliated companies.
  • Set-up and maintenance of fixed asset schedules.
  • Preparing and filing of Sales & Use tax returns.
  • Preparing and assisting 3rd party auditors with information needed on a yearly basis.
  • General office duties as needed, including but not limited to, assisting with telephones, mail, supplies and bank deposits.
  • Administer the process of filing and handling claims for the business insurance for the company.
  • Maintain contractor’s licenses as required by law.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for RELCO, LLC.
  • Other projects as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s Degree required in Accounting or Business related field
  • Two to five years of experience working in an accounting role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Payroll experience a plus.
