Job Summary:
The Operations Assistant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our third-party logistics (3PL) center and supporting our energy efficiency programs. This role involves managing client relationships, inventory, and warehouse maintenance, as well as handling customer service inquiries related to fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, extensive knowledge of warehouse management software, and the ability to lead and support a team during peak times.
Key Responsibilities:
3PL Center Management:
- Assist in the operation of the third-party logistics (3PL) center, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of client orders.
- Conduct regular client meetings to review performance, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels, including stocking, ordering, and replacing supplies as needed.
- Assist clients with inventory management using warehouse management software, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Monitor stale orders for 3PL clients on a weekly basis and take corrective action when necessary.
Warehouse Maintenance:
- Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse, including cleanliness and organization.
- Manage warehouse supplies and equipment, ensuring they are ordered, stocked, and replaced in a timely manner.
Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service to fulfillment clients, including processing order changes and addressing any issues that arise.
Order Fulfillment Assistance:
- Assist with picking and packing orders during peak seasons or when there is an immediate need to fulfill orders.
Safety and Compliance:
- Conduct monthly safety inspections of the warehouse, following a detailed checklist to ensure a safe working environment. Assist Warehouse Manager with quality control procedures.
Energy Efficiency Program Support:
- Support the execution and operational needs of our energy efficiency programs, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
Communication and Coordination:
- Proactively communicate with suppliers regarding credits, replacements, and returns, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of a monthly employee newsletter to keep the team informed and engaged.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management software and inventory systems.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak seasons.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to lift and move items as required in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work a pallet jack.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Will be required to complete forklift training.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Google Suite.
- Required to complete CPR/AED training after hire.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.63 - $26.44 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
