Audio / Visual Engineer

CTO is looking for an Audio-Visual (A/V) Engineer to join our existing team supporting a long-term client. This position requires at least an active Top Secret clearance. This exciting contract is very close to the Department of State’s mission. You will be in a role that will have a real impact on the safety of our citizens abroad and will be joining a motivated driven team. This entails working as part of a mixed contractor team under direction of USG CTO leadership. Work would include elements of the requirements listed below.

Although the client is located in Rosslyn, Virginia, a portion of the work will be performed in support of the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) at Fort Pickett and on adjacent property near Blackstone, Virginia; other supporting efforts are also underway in locations in the DC metro area that may require support as well.

Assist in the planning and installation of conduit and electrical requirements specific to the support of selected audio-visual equipment
Review pre-construction design and documentation
Provide assistance with technical design, bid/service contract pricing, miscellaneous material and labor estimates for proposals as needed
Conduct site surveys as needed
Contribute to, review, and approve system descriptions
Establish and maintain positive and effective line of communication with the client
Manage medium to large projects
Display job site leadership
Perform tests on integrated systems and train client on use
Test and calibration A/V equipment
Assume ownership of project installation when required
Prepare job documentation as needed
Develop & coordinate necessary CAD drawings
Coordinate with, and direct technicians assigned to project
Provide continuing engineer support during the installation phase
Control system programming as needed
Develop and write custom operation manuals
Ability to diagnose complex system problems
Customer liaison in support of Project Manager
Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate product if requested
Assist other departments with technical support issues if needed
Provide field service support if requested

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge/Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of directly relatable experience as described above
At least 3-5 years of current experience in Information Assurance Analysis and ISSO experience

Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
CAD/Visio drawings experience
Complete understanding of control protocols
Highly knowledgeable on latest networking technologies
PC proficient down to component level
Possess excellent communications and inter-personal skills
Perform effectively despite sudden deadlines and changing priorities
Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems
Highly reliable self-starter; can be counted on to complete assignments
Proven competence in working with others in a team effort
