This global alternative asset management firm based in Uptown is looking for someone with 4+ years of public audit experience for this newly created position in their growing energy fund. The position will provide excellent exposure to the firm's CEO, CFO and General Counsel. This firm has a very close-knit culture with good work/life balance and benefits.

Responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements for multiple entities within a private equity structure, including a co-investment scenario
Monthly account reconciliations for all entities
Assist with budget projections and tracking of expenses for each entity
Assist with expense processing and allocation among the entities
Prepare monthly or quarterly partner allocations and capital statements
Prepare capital call notices and supporting allocation schedules
Provide audit supporting schedules and liaise with external auditors on interim and year end audit process
Assist with special projects and process improvements
File various compliance related reports with various agencies
Communicate directly with the private equity funds' CEO, CFO, and General Counsel

Requirements:
Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (Masters/MBA preferred)
Five or more years of experience in an accounting environment (GAAP financial statement preparation preferred)
CPA preferred (candidate can be actively seeking CPA designation or passed all or part(s) of exam)
Hedge fund or private equity accounting experience strongly preferred
Auditing and/or partnership tax experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting differences
Strong reconciliation and research skills over a broad range of accounts
Strong general ledger skills
Proficient in Excel and other MS Office software products
Excellent interpersonal skills
