Daily Duties
· Fleet Experience – ensuring all our trucks/trailers/equipment are taken care of. This ranges from keeping up with maintenance schedules, insurance expirations, documentation of services, testing the equipment.
o Trucks need to be organized and identical to the next. Tools should be accounted for. Any new damage reported – if not done so already by the driver. Making sure trucks are road worthy. From tire rotations, to wiper blades, to oil changes, these trucks should be kept in great condition.
o Trailers. Trailers need to be kept up with. Electrical issues need to be dealt with. Services need to be scheduled yearly. Tires need to be inflated properly. Any problems with trailers need to be taken care of immediately.
o Equipment. Forklifts, generators, core drills, ladders, etc. These things need to be kept up with and in working condition. Taking care of small repairs if doable. Setting up services for things we cannot do ourselves.
· Helping organize the yard – This is a secondary potion. Helping put things back to where they are supposed to be. Everything has a home, and things need to be put back by the end of the day. If you see something out of place, make sure it gets put back properly.
o Empty pallets should be condensed.
o Equipment needs to be put back to its proper locations
o Making sure things are not left out in the weather
o Taking orders from our Expeditor if need be.
· Helping with our tool room – This includes making sure barrowed tools are returned promptly, ensuring tools are in working order, helping with keeping the tool room clutter free.
· Technical skills – Helping problem solve minor issues we have around the shop, from replacing air hoses, to helping repair generators. A problem solver mentality.
· Forklift certification – If you do not have this, we will train you. Helping move pallets, trailers, and materials to and from requested areas.
· Common Sense – If you see something is broken or needs to be put away, then take the time to do so instead of leaving it for the next person to deal with.
· We are looking for a well-mannered team player. NO BS tolerated. Keep the drama at home.
· Cross training will likely happen since we all eventually help the different departments.
