The IT Analyst team member will interact with all levels and departments within our company. The IT Analyst will provide technical advice, troubleshooting and support to users.

Headquartered in Portsmouth, Virginia, Western Branch Diesel operates out of 11 branches strategically located throughout Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina. These branches provide sales and service to the construction and industrial, marine, mining and quarry, oil/gas, on-highway, and power-generation markets. The company’s 300+ team members include over 150 highly trained service technicians.

Job Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve technical hardware and software issues in person, remotely, and via telephone.
Help desk, user support and line-of-business application support
Work in a centralized team to answer, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, remote and in person requests for assistance from end-users experiencing problems
Interview users to collect information about problems and lead users through diagnostic procedures to determine the source of error
Identify and discuss root causes of user technical issues
Identify and discuss vulnerabilities or areas of poor system performance
Keep system documentation up to date, including configurations and inventory
Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
Research questions using available information resources

Minimum qualifications:
One (1) year of computer help desk experience preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Understanding of domain managed systems, LAN/WAN architecture.
Problem solving and analytical abilities.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Network+ certification helpful.
Working knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems, versions 7, 8/8.1, and 10.
English proficiency required.

This position is located in Portsmouth, VA and reports to the Network Administrator.

Full-time, Monday-Friday 8a-5p.

Non-Exempt position – Wage will be DOE.
