Roll Off Drivers are responsible for servicing customers by the hauling of waste or construction debris to a disposal site. Drivers will deliver, remove and haul roll-off containers to/from customers' sites, which includes open tops and compactors. This position will require driving in congested and/or confined areas, entering/exiting the truck several times per day, climb to hook/unhook containers, move items to smooth the load, and to secure tarps. The hours and physical demand may vary by route or area.
Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Provide roll off delivery and removal services to customers, open tops or compactors, on assigned route(s) or by work order.
Maintain and update electronic work orders throughout the day (tablet computer).
Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs, review with mechanic on duty upon arrival back at headquarters. Inspections must be to DOT standards
Maintain and update drivers log sheets, legibly, cleanly, accurately, retain all disposal receipts, fuel receipts, and record all incidents and downtime.
Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
Prevent damage to company and customer assets
Safety is of paramount importance, safety glasses are mandatory once the cab door opens
Ability to operate and comprehend a tablet for order execution and routing
Ability to read and understand a GPS device with traffic patterns.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including but not limited to: sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing and lifting).
Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills.
Ability to drive truck either a manual transmission or automatic transmission.
General knowledge of mechanics of trucks.
Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Minimum 2 years CDL truck driving experience.
Waste industry experience a plus.
Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
Must have a valid DOT medical card or able to obtain prior to hire.
Must not have any DUI’s or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Pay range: $17.00 to $21.00 /hour
