What we want
The Sustainable Transportation Program Coordinator II, under general supervision, works collaboratively with leadership to plan, develop and implement sustainable transportation programs in adherence to campus wide master plans including, but not limited to, the Campus Master Plan, The Campus Sustainability Master Plan, the Residence Life Sustainability Master Plan, and the Transportation Services Mobility Master Plan, with the goal of maximizing a positive customer experience when participating in any of the current and future sustainable transportation initiatives. Current initiatives include, private and shared micro-mobility, bike lease, bike maintenance education, car share, ride share, weekly and planned break intercity travel, pedestrian travel, and demand response services.

What you need to know
This position will require the selected candidate to be able to ride a bicycle, lift up to 20 lbs., and use bicycle repair tools/equipment, including power tools, upon occasion. This position will require work in all weather conditions. May be required to work overtime, weekends, occasional holidays and all home football game dependent on departmental needs.
Salary: $57,740.81 annually
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of program administration, bicycle industry, or sustainable transportation experience.
Preferred Experience:
Five years of administrative experience. Previous supervisory experience.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Class C driver’s license or must be able to obtain a Class C vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
League Cycling Instructor certification. CAPP Certification, TDM-CP Certification.
Responsibilities
Sustainable Transportation Initiatives - Primarily assists the manager with Sustainable Transportation initiatives such as private and shared micro mobility, bike lease, bike counts, bike facilities improvements, bike maintenance education, car share, ride share, weekly and planned break intercity travel, pedestrian travel, and demand response services and new services as developed. Activities involving bike infrastructure, bike education and sustainable transportation require the ability to ride a bicycl e . Expands bike usage to grow the private and shared micro mobility system. Engages users to effectively mitigate poor behavior regarding the system and its assets. Incorporates micro mobility in a multi-modal system to better serve campus by integrating offerings in a systematic way to create mobility efficiencies with existing services and new services as developed. Provides a customer focused service to the campus. Is able to answer questions regarding all initiatives and services. Encourages the use of Sustainable Transportation to customers. Evaluates the effectiveness of current sustainable transportation programs against current goals and objectives and peer university programs. Assists in establishing short and long-term goals and strategic planning. Identifies and recommends program improvements. Plans, implements, and evaluates program events to market/educate to possible user groups.
Customer Assistance - Coordinates daily operational procedures to ensure the best customer experience, including bicycle booting, impounding, returning, etc. , which requires the ability to drive a University vehicle and travel in restricted access areas.
Liaison - Serves as a liaison with Logistics for impound storage and surplus property transfer. Serves as a liaison with University Police regarding safety, bike theft, bait bikes, and education. Serves as a liaison with Outdoor Adventures regarding The HUB facility. Serves as a liaison with the City of College Station, City of Bryan, and other bike share stakeholders.
Supervision - Is responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations and discipline action for approximately five student workers. Oversees student workers schedules and ensures that wages stay within the budget amount. Is responsible for approving leave requests and time worked for student workers.

Employees are responsible for the following: representing the department to internal and external customers by actively supporting diversity; maintaining 100% “on time” compliance with all university required training for all employees; approving time worked and requesting appropriate leave in a timely manner; reading and responding to e-mail; reviewing/reading information listed on the department intranet; performing assigned tasks in a safe manner and utilizing personal protective items/equipment as appropriate or instructed by supervisor or department; reporting unsafe actions or conditions to supervisor immediately and supporting and following unit/department safety guidelines, practices and policies. Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc.
