The successful candidate will develop and implement PSM and RMP programs and related training, and guide plant employees accordingly. How you will make contributions that matter...

Overall responsibility for the implementation and regulatory compliance of PSM and RMP programs, and assist in maintaining the integrity of the plant’s ammonia and related cooling process systems.

Provide direction and expertise to facility management to ensure that PSM and RMP requirements are met as a minimum.

Maintain a working knowledge of refrigeration, PSM (14 elements), RMP, applicable state and federal rules and regulations and applicable refrigeration codes and standards.

Maintain oversight needed to meet the above regulations, requirements and programs.

Provide technical and PSM related training as required.

Work with Saputo’s Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) Refrigeration Compliance Management team to implement corporate ammonia system program management aspects.

Work with approved contractors and/or internal resources to perform audits and inspections of plant performance and activities. Develop a system for addressing any identified deficiencies.

Educate personnel on program aspects to include: hazard recognition, inspections and how to address gaps.

Provide guidance and support during agency inspections as the program area technical subject matter expert.

Provide technical support for the plant maintenance supervisor/manager in the area of PSM/RMP reporting and participate on any environmental teams/projects as needed including soliciting quotes for ammonia system work from vendors.

Establish a plant PSM team. Hold routine meetings and communicate results to plant and Saputo DEA Refrigeration Compliance Management team.

Participate in routine Saputo DEA Refrigeration Compliance Management team & PSM Coordinator conference calls.

Support Saputo Environmental/Refrigeration Compliance Management, Health, Safety and Risk Management initiatives and work closely with key personnel from these departments.

Provide assistance in trouble shooting and incident investigation activities related to ammonia systems.
You are best suited for the role if you…

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Safety Management, Industrial Risk Management, or the equivalent combination of experience and education and 2 or more years of relevant experience in food/dairy manufacturing preferred.

Familiarity with Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, PLC’s, process instrumentation and process drawings preferred.

Ability to develop relationships and effectively influence at all levels internally (i.e. management teams) and externally (regulators).

Strong strategic thinking skills with broad-based business acumen and experience, with proven ability to identify opportunities and lead change initiatives.
-
Excellent interpersonal, communication, prioritization, time management, organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.

Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Programmable Logic Controllers, & project & manufacturing software.
