Responsible for assisting engineering team in the research, development, qualification, testing and reporting of Low Observable (LO) material systems for use on LM products.
Position will require significant material coupon preparation, test involvement and full documentation of test results. Familiarity with classification marking requirements and computer systems is essential. Knowledge of standard (ASTM, SAE, NIST, etc.) test procedures is a plus. Will work under the close direction and supervision of senior LOM engineers. Must be flexible and able to work on multiple activities simultaneously. Must have good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with technical support team; able to follow written test procedures and provide input to test reports. Must also be able to summarize results and provide input to presentations for customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office related programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Access required. Must be able to summarize results and provide input to presentations for customers. Good understanding of experimental design and test plan execution is valuable. Security clearance and respirator certification will be required.
This position requires special security access and/or clearances from the U.S. Government. Bachelors degree in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Experience leading team members in fabrication processes
- Knowledge of advanced aircraft signature materials manufacturing requirements & processes
- Proficient with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and MATLAB
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of ESH regulations is desired, but not
- Ability to work in a team environment
