We have the technology, but do we know how to use it? In an industry where “cloud” is sometimes synonymous with “genie,” it’s important to have someone on your team who knows how to engineer cloud based and hybrid on-premise/cloud based solutions. That’s why we need you, an engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with cloud based resources, to help us modernize government agencies.
As a cloud engineer on our team, you’ll support efforts to build cloud infrastructure with AWS. You’ll contribute to tool and capability recommendations based on your research of the current environment and various on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll work with migration teams to inform strategy and architecture design. This is an opportunity to work with the latest cloud resources as you learn prototyping using multiple techniques and new technologies. You’ll be able to gain experience in solution architecture and cloud based development while developing critical systems for government. 6+ years of experience with software development
2+ years of experience with leading technical delivery
Experience with solution architecture, system architecture, cloud computing, microservices architecture, and data architecture
Experience with software development lifecycle processes or Agile development, including rapid development, Scrum, and rapid prototyping
Experience in building cloud infrastructure with AWS
Experience using version control systems, including GitHub for code management and artifact tracking
Ability to analyze business needs, research possible solutions, and define solution implementation approach
Ability to obtain a security clearance
BA or BS degree in Computer Science or 7+ years of experience with software development
Nice If You Have:
Experience with serverless architecture in AWS, including AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, and Amazon DynamoDB
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, including CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS Serverless Application Model, or Serverless Framework
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and container tools
Experience with project management tools, including JIRA and Confluence
Expertise with front-end user interface development, including translating requirements into code and implementing mockups
Experience with backend languages, including Python, Node.js, Java or .NET
Experience with designing and building RESTful API web services
Experience with strategic planning, process improvement, or performance management
Knowledge of FedRAMP process, cybersecurity, and all phases of the risk assessment process
Possession of excellent critical thinking skills
Possession of excellent interpersonal, team, and relationship-building skills
Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification
