Job Description: Turndown/Laundry Housekeeper


The Housekeeping Turndown Attendant is responsible for making lasting impressions on our guests by ensuring the guest’s room is clean and welcoming at all times. Turndown staff will provide extra touches to our guest’s rooms such as offering ice or extra towels and pillows, turning on the television or music to a soothing and relaxing station, closing the blinds, and more.

Specific Responsibilities

Turndown service includes but is not limited to:

  • Obtain a list each day from the Front Desk detailing the occupied rooms, stayovers, checkouts, and arrivals
  • Clean each guest room as needed to meet cleanliness standards and guest expectations
  • Clean bathroom floor, sink, tub, toilet and all surfaces using the proper products to clean and disinfect
  • Prepare beds for turndown, change linens if necessary
  • Remove dirty dishes, glasses, leftover food, room service trays
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room
  • Straighten guest belongings in bathroom and bedroom/living space
  • Empty trash
  • Makeup rollaway beds
  • Deliver amenities and turndown letters to each room nightly
  • Gather all cleaning supplies and return them to proper place, maintain work area
  • Complete all assigned cleaning duties
  • Prepare housekeeping cart for next day’s use
  • Wash and fold wash cloths, hand towels, pool towels, other as needed
  • Stock hotel restaurant restrooms with laundered hand towels; clean restrooms
  • Turn in lost and found articles to the Front Desk
  • Greet guests warmly and respond in a timely manner to guest requests for items
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • High school diploma and/or equivalent
  • Ability to follow instructions, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel to handle specific details or demands of quality and speedy guest services
  • Ability to lift up to 25+lbs
  • Ability to push and pull housekeeping cart
  • Basic English skills preferred (to be able to answer basic questions about services and amenities, give directions to guests)
  • Schedule may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays
