Barry University, Recruitment & Admissions department is currently seeking an Enrollment Specialist in our Miami Region. The Enrollment Specialist is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment efforts of the assigned territory. The recruiter engages with prospective students via relationship building, funnel management, and strategic outreach efforts in order to attract and enroll qualified students and meet enrollment goals. In collaboration with the Outreach Recruiter, the Enrollment Specialist develops and implements a recruitment plan and conversion strategies for bridging prospective student’s academic needs with programs offered at Barry University. The position requires a willingness and flexibility to work long hours and weekends during peak seasons leading up to start terms. Some local travel will be expected. This position starts at $18.27.
Manage assigned prospect/applicant pool to achieve enrollment goals for assigned territory.
In collaboration with the Outreach Recruiter, plan, organize and implement a data-driven recruitment strategy for students to meet enrollment goals by utilizing available tools.
Create and implement a creative communication strategy for applicants, stale applicants, stop-outs and alumni designed to provide the appropriate information based on their movement along the enrollment continuum.
Tailor messages for applicants depending on their stage in the recruitment funnel.
Work autonomously and independently while also participating and working collaboratively with the rest of the Recruitment and Admissions team and academic advisors to meet enrollment goals.
Engage the University community in developing cross-functional relationships to enhance the prospective student experience.
Maintain appropriate follow-up communication with these students regarding the status of their applications for admission and financial aid.
Make recommendations for process improvements to improve student experience.
Conduct follow-up communication via phone, text, email, live chat, web, and other methods of communication with applicants.
Provide substantive information on admission requirements and procedures, programs and curricula, financial aid and scholarships.
Advise and guide the applicant through the decision-making and application process providing high-level coaching as well as technical assistance throughout the relationship.
Facilitate onboarding process for admitted students.
Act as spokesperson and first line of contact for the University.
Maintain a professional appearance at all times and conduct themselves in a professional manner while holding true to the core values of Barry University.
Represent the Barry University brand and serve as a content expert for applicants for all Barry programs.
Demonstrate and possess strong understanding of cultural competency and communicate to different audiences.
Conduct regular assessments of interactions with prospective student and make recommendations for needed updates of information to improve the customer experience.
Prepare and deliver presentations, events or programs for applicants and accepted student audiences, both small and large.
Participate in on- and off-campus events for prospects, accepted students, special interest groups.
Act as the in-house enrollment expert when meeting with prospective students.
Maintain effective communications with the departments of Financial Aid and Admissions Services as necessary to facilitate their efforts in the application process.
Serve as backup for recruitment/lead generation activities in collaboration with the Outreach Recruiter.
Develop and maintain expertise in describing the University’s scholarships, designated grants, and financial aid awarding policies and practices, and ensure the highest level of service and accuracy with applicant.
Safeguard the confidentiality of student, staff and university information by exercising discretion in managing records and communication with faculty, staff, parents, alumni and current and prospective students.
Collect, synthesize, and analyze data for the following purposes:
Prepare routine reports on conversion activities and applicant behaviors.
Utilize CRM data to provide routine assessment about progress toward identified goals.
Stay abreast of territory trends, market and demands to forecast recruitment strategies.
Proactively leverage recruitment databases and subscription services to design and implement strategies for building relationships with all constituents involved in the recruitment process.
Utilize data and CRM to provide routine assessment about progress toward identified objectives and goals.
Record, update, and analyze all recruiting data for various programs and marketing initiatives via University’s CRM.
Provide creative and cost-effective ideas to innovate recruitment and conversion strategy; utilize available technology solutions to track and benchmark critical data.
Contribute to annual recruitment plan.
Bachelor’s Degree in any field required.
1-3 years of related experience.
Requires a willingness and flexibility to work long hours and weekends during peak seasons leading up to start terms. Some local travel will be expected.
Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle. Eligible to rent a car via the university’s account when/as needed.
Must be able to utilize resources, data, and tools effectively. Should demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret data.
Must be able to manage time, projects, deadlines and delegate when necessary.
Must have experience with strong emphasis on details and follow up on assignments.
Able to navigate multiple systems of record for accessing official university records; Salesforce CRM Knowledge. Windows operating systems and software, social media aptitude; Microsoft Office Suite; Familiarity with desktop and web-based conferencing tools – Skype, Skype Business, Microsoft Lync, Webex, etc.
Demonstrated aptitude for utilizing windows based desktop and mobile equipment including smartphones and/or other smart devices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effectively present information and respond to questions from applicants which may include public/group speaking engagements.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to articulate the value and benefits of a Barry degree to a variety of audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills, cross-cultural communication skills, being a good listener. Sensitivity to others and ability to work well in a team.
Demonstrated strong skills and a track record for sustained measurement of program outcomes.
