This position is responsible for developing and maintaining strong business relationships with new and existing accounts in assigned territory. Achieves revenue and contribution goals by developing rail solutions for customers that benefit KCS and optimize the customers supply chain. Develops and executes account strategies and sales objectives.
Increases revenue, market share and contribution margin to meet corporate goals for operating ratio and net income objectives.
Creates and manages client relationships at all levels.
Handles all business development activities within assigned territory. May direct the work of other sales staff.
Participates in relationship building events to foster strong customer and industry relationships.
Identifies opportunities to sell across KCS services.
Exemplifies KCS Vision, Values, and Culture in each and every interaction with team, clients, and stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum eight (8) years of relevant professional experience
Minimum three (3) years of account management experience
Note: Applicable studies and work history may be taken into account in lieu of degree and experience requirements
Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Minimum five (5) years of experience in sales, pricing, rail, market analysis, logistics or supply chain management
KCS network experience, specifically in sales, marketing, customer relations, rail or logistics
Six Sigma, Lean or similar experience with improving process efficiency
