Junior Electrical Engineer (Technician)

Advantage Engineers is seeking an entry level Junior Electrical Engineer. This position involves power design and lighting design, NOT RF engineering and electronics . The successful candidate will have an AutoCAD experience and an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field. This ideal candidate will have field experience, as well as experience working at or with an engineering firm. This position will report to, and work under the director of the Electrical Project Engineer.

Job Specifics

The duties can include but may not be limited to:
Develop complete panel schedules and single line diagrams.
Prepare detailed drawings for projects using the application of electrical theoretical and practical design knowledge.
Conduct independent electrical site audits and site surveys to determine existing conditions at project sites which include buildings and remote telecom facilities.
Develop short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
Size conduit, conductors and electric services per the NEC.
Design and specify electrical distribution systems including disconnects, panelboards and meter centers.
Perform basic electrical design for small, interior spaces to include power, lighting, fire alarm and mechanical equipment connections.
Coordinate with and determine power company requirements for specific projects.
Provide electrical design direction and support to all team members.
Communicate with clients, consultants, project personnel and inspecting authorities.

Must have a technical two-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, preferred.
At minimum, six (6) months of AutoCAD experience.
Background and knowledge of the NEC and IBC highly desired.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to design practical solutions to project challenges.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, primarily day trips.
