Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality deli products. You will play a vital role in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience by maintaining food safety standards and promoting our deli offerings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to food safety guidelines and sanitation standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their selections and answering any questions they may have.
- Upsell deli products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking supplies as needed.
- Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently, following all operational procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or culinary roles is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards is essential.
- Ability to perform basic retail math for inventory management and pricing.
- Experience in a grocery store or quick-service fast food restaurant is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required in the deli environment.
