The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and credentialed Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong background in Family Nursing Practice (FNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health (PMH) to collaborate on designing a high-impact graduate/master's level nursing program. This program is dedicated to advancing the knowledge and clinical skills of students aiming to specialize in primary care and mental health services. The SME will play a key role in developing a curriculum that prepares students for the complexities of today's healthcare landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the program design by collaborating with instructional designers and University faculty to establish curriculum goals and objectives.
- Ensure the program addresses current trends, standards, and competencies in advanced practice nursing, aligning with Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certifications.
- Offer insights and recommendations on learning outcomes, competency benchmarks, and assessment tools that meet graduate-level nursing standards.
- Work closely with the faculty to incorporate feedback and ensure the program design meets the University’s expectations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Ph.D. in Nursing (preferred).
- Certifications: Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in a combined role of practitioner, academic teaching, and nursing leadership, with extensive experience in primary care and psychiatric-mental health.
- Teaching Background: Demonstrated experience in graduate-level teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship in nursing education.
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record of leadership in nursing or healthcare settings, with a focus on quality improvement, team collaboration, and patient-centered care.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of FNP and PMHNP practices, with a strong understanding of the integration of mental health in primary care.
- Ability to translate clinical best practices into educational experiences that are rigorous, relevant, and accessible.
- Familiarity with academic standards for graduate-level nursing programs, including accreditation and certification requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor faculty and instructional designers in the development of high-quality nursing education programs.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in designing programs for online and hybrid learning environments.
- Published research or articles in the areas of primary care, mental health, or nursing education.
- Affiliation with professional nursing organizations (e.g., ANA, AANP, APNA).
