Job Opportunity

Title: Scheduler

Hours: Full-time; M-F 8-5

Location: 555 N. Arlington Avenue, Reno, NV 89503

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Scheduling Manager, the Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient appointments in coordination with physician protocols.

Essential Functions

Answer telephones utilizing multi-line phone system and schedule patient’s appointments appropriately.

Use EMR system to match physician availability with patient’s preferences.

Accurately input patient demographic information such as patient’s name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, and insurance information.

Communicate as needed with clinical staff about patient concerns and issues related to schedules.

Use customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly.

Education, Knowledge, Skills

High School diploma or GED

Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures

Knowledge of customer services principles and practices

Knowledge of patient account management

Skill in maintaining an organized work area

Skill in understanding patient education requirements and effectively sharing the information with the patient and families

Ability to learn Centricity Practice Solution

Ability to work quickly, accurately and independently

Effective and professional communication skills with patients, physicians, staff, and outside vendors


One year of related call center experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

This position operates in a professional office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
