The position would support the four attorneys in our growing Criminal Law Department and would have the opportunity to assist with the intake process, calendaring, records requests and work with the client and court from start to conclusion. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of legal experience with a background that includes providing support for criminal law areas. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Intelligence, dedication, strong work ethic, patience, excellent communication skills and an always positive attitude are additional characteristics we are looking for.

Job Duties:

  • Exercise independent judgment and decision making while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and upholding ethical standards
  • Be a self-motivated professional capable of handling large caseloads and legal projects
  • Reach out to potential clients, schedule consultations and manage client intake
  • Have a sound working knowledge of the state court system, including electronic filing
  • Assist in case management including coordination of discovery and scheduling
  • Draft and file routine motions, maintain litigation calendar and support attorneys with legal correspondence and client communication
  • Help provide the client with an excellent experience in every way possible
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be an expert with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $35,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • Legal Secretary: 2 years (Preferred)
