PURPOSE OF THE POSITION Ensures the reliable operation of filling and closing technologies at all Wet Pet plants through diagnosing and resolving issues and training plant maintenance staff.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshoots filling and closing issues. Diagnoses and resolves complex filling, sealing and seaming issues including but not limited to weight variance, seal/seam integrity, and machine malfunctions. Provides support and assistance to Operations and Maintenance. Documents findings on structured reports and provides feedback to plant staff. Develops instructions for filling and closing equipment. Provides input for and assembles SWI/SOPs for related equipment set-up troubleshooting and for the safe operation of related filling and closing equipment. Provides training at the plant level for Technicians and Operators. Develops and provides structured training programs for technicians/operators on specific technologies. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills. Interacts positively with team members and provides coaching.
Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in a manufacturing environment and surrounding property. May travel via car or plane to various work locations.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: Approximately 25% travel within North America to and from multiple facilities or work-sites, possibly requiring overnight stays.
Technical Experience: 7 years experience in at least one filling - closing technology, advanced equipment and overhaul operations, and operational troubleshooting. Experience in a technical service related role required.
Industry Experience: Preference for food processing or food processing OEM equipment organization.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field, or 4 years related work experience.
