Artworks, the graphics production arm of NBC News & MSNBC is looking for a highly-motivated and qualified Art Director to creatively lead the daily visual needs for the TODAY show. This is a unique opportunity in leading a team that focuses on cutting edge graphic design while leveraging the latest in real-time graphic technology. The ideal candidate is an imaginative thinker – who is eager to innovate and push the creative envelope. He/she is a natural leader who thrives in high-pressure situations, and finds extreme satisfaction when a beautiful graphic makes it to air. He/she is always looking for new ways to tell a compelling visual story. He/she will challenge the typical, and constantly seek new and visually interesting solutions to evolve the team forward, while never losing sight of the objectives in supporting a daily News and Features program.
Creatively lead the daily visual needs for the TODAY Show, encompassing everything from set graphics, animation design and edit production in-conjunction with editorial partners and the Managing Art Director
Execute and deliver graphics
Storyboard and present conceptual designs to the Managing Art Director, as well as Editorial Partners
Collaborate with the Managing Art Director and Executive Producers on daily visuals and long-term project initiatives
Work closely with show graphic teams and artists to meet deadlines and fulfill editorial requests
Be in a position to assign and distribute incoming orders requests to artists
Present creative solutions to graphic needs
Ability to back-up artists in graphic design, as needed for both animated and still-work
Act as conduit between artists and editorial partners by managing delivery expectations and deadlines for ordered graphics
Ensure editorial requests are clear and accurate to the artists.
Manage and supervise multiple projects, across many different schedules, and deliver compelling creative solutions
5+ years of professional work experience in a creative group in a 24/7, fast-paced production environment
Expert skillset in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects)
Expert skillset in creating both animated and still frame graphics
Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise multiple projects, across many different schedules, and deliver compelling creative solutions.

Knowledge and experience in Cinema 4D, and VizRT real time graphic production
Previous experience working in news production and broadcast design
