Busy medical practice in Fairfield, CT is looking to onboard a medical assistant. This position involves greeting and registering patients ensuring a smooth work flow; collecting insurance information and co-payments; working towards the common goal of providing excellent customer service to the practice's patients.
Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Ability to navigate the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system (prior EMR experience a plus)
* Scheduling patients and inputting demographic information in EMR
* Obtaining prior authorizations & pre-certifications with insurance companies.
* Answering the phone, responding to inquires / directing all phone messages to appropriate personnel.
* Checking patients in, taking vitals/ history/ EKGs/ Spirometry
Salary: $18-$22 per hour (based on experience/ qualifications)
Defined Benefit/ Profit Sharing contributions from employer towards retirement
