You will work with a team of experts on a variety of projects within the Engineering division, as well as cross-functionally with all other areas of the business. Project Solutions is looking for a Construction Inspector for immediate hire to contribute to the construction process for local area companies. We are looking for an individual that will take initiative, is self -directed and thrives in a fast changing environment that requires the ability to multi-task. This position will require you to split your time between Worland, Wyoming and the Rapid City, SD office.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
a. Inspect work of Construction Contractor for progress, workmanship, quality and conformance with contract documents, applicable building codes, and safety standards.
Complete Daily Report for each day of on-site construction activities.
b. Construction Manager/Inspector shall be knowledgeable in construction practices including applicable building codes, applicable safety regulations.
c. Document safety issues daily.
d. Perform surveys of construction quantities.
e. Take appropriate photographs that document construction progress and problems.
f. Perform inspection and draft deficiency list for property owner review. Generate cost estimate for each item on deficiency list.
Some task orders may require field task such as but not limited to, soil classification, relative density, sieve analysis, moisture content, control compaction curves and in-place density.
Effectively plan, organize workload and schedule time to meet the demands of the position.
Work in a cooperative and professional manner with PSI staff and onsite staff.
Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills.
Abide by the PSI policies, procedures, and structure.
Attend meetings, events and other functions as required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
At least 3 years of construction or project management/quality assurance inspection experience.
Ability to work out in the field and in an office environment.
Ability to establish temporary field offices such as, setting up job files, working folders, and record keeping systems.
Qualified applicant must be able to pass a background check and security clearance.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Prior OSHA Compliance training preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
Must be able to climb ladders, regularly lift weights up to 50 pounds, and work in a physically demanding environment.
Must pass a pre-employment background check, and drug test.
Minimum 3 years’ experience of relevant quality assurance inspection in construction management.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Position operates during regular business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work/call back time may be required as job duties demand.
Limited travel is anticipated for this position.
