Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. is a software engineering company with over 35 years of experience in the industry. As we expand our company and products, we are looking for highly motivated individuals to provide pre/post technical software support to our customer base. The Technical Support Engineer will work with a team assisting customers, in a timely, accurate, and friendly manner when they have questions or problems concerning the company’s software products. The Technical Support Engineer will also provide technical content for our web site (knowledge base) and technical newsletter articles. Training for the Technical Support Engineer position will include advanced product usage of our flagship product ActiveBatch, an Enterprise Job Scheduling and IT Automation solution, to further your understanding as well as allow for upward career growth into our professional services and/or training areas as well as software engineering, if desired.
As many of our customers are administrators, "admin" knowledge of Windows OS (UNIX knowledge a plus) is required for the Technical Support Engineer position. The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal communications skills, be even tempered and project a positive, customer-focused attitude. A written test will be administered to demonstrate general computer knowledge as well as written and verbal communication skills.
Pre-sales technical support. This individual will assist the Sales Team throughout the entire sales cycle from participating in the initial product demonstration thru the conclusion of a Proof-of-Concept and assisting with any technical questions the prospective customer may have.
Post-sales technical support. The Technical Support Engineer will work within a team to assist customers, in a timely, accurate, and friendly manner with any questions or concerns they have in regards to their use of ActiveBatch. This includes managing and ensuring customer service level agreements (SLAs) are met. The Technical Support Engineer may also participate in the company’s trade show efforts.
Consulting. This area concerns general and specific product expertise as it relates to ActiveBatch. We expect the Technical Support Engineer to provide ActiveBatch consulting on the Microsoft Windows platform (and/or other platforms that we may train the individual on). This consulting may be migration services from one version to another or other consulting as the need and requirements/expertise matches.
Relationship and Roles:
Expert administrative knowledge of the Microsoft Windows platform (at least Windows 2008). Microsoft certification and/or knowledge of UNIX platforms a plus.
Strong knowledge of PowerShell (preferred) or VBScript. For UNIX, shell scripting.
Strong academic background (4 year degree required in a computer related field).
Be highly motivated and have a “can do” attitude.
Must be customer-focused with a passion for customer service. This is a “people-oriented” position in which you will be the contact for our customers when they have questions or issues using our software. The successful candidate understands that each interaction with a customer is an opportunity to establish vendor loyalty.
BS in a related computer field.
Minimum requirement include 1-2 years of experience in a customer support role.
Excellent analytical, communication (speaking and writing) and teamwork skills are required.
