WSP has an excellent opportunity available for an experienced Structural CADD Designer to join our Transportation and Infrastructure team in our New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana offices! In this role, you will support our Structures group and be a key contributor on major bridge and transportation projects. Recent wins in the southeast region of WSP have created an exciting opportunity to work on multiple high profile projects located in North Carolina, Tennessee, and New Orleans. In addition, future opportunities will be available to work on existing major bridge projects throughout Louisiana and beyond. The structures group will relocate to Baton Rouge in 2019. Local candidates preferred. Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, oversees CADD staff, performs difficult computer-aided drafting and design work on transportation related projects. -Uses CADD software to generate structural details for use with project drawings. -Organizes and details from written or verbal specifications or from rough or detailed sketches and/or drawings. -Oversees and trains less experienced individuals. -Assigns work activities and prepares work schedules. -Prepares various design options on the screen or on hard copy. -Develops standards and symbols to meet specialized needs of a project. -Performs complex geometry & quantity calculations. -Responsible for detailing of large projects under engineer in charge. High school diploma or equivalent plus two years specialized technical drafting, math, and computer training.
7+ years of CADD experience required.
Highly motivated and strong work ethic.
5+ Experience detailing Structures using CADD software.
The Ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Formal CADD training preferred.
Design-and-Build projects experience.
Workstation setup experience.
