Communications Manager, Consumer Products, YouTube

You are an experienced, creative and quick-witted Communications Manager to lead Consumer Product Communications at YouTube. In this role, you’ll work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute creative campaigns around YouTube products and features in order to showcase the magic of our products and the innovation behind them. You are smart, fast-moving, a self-starter, and able to combine creativity with the organizational skills to manage numerous projects on tight deadlines.

Manage communications related to user-facing YouTube’s products; draft narratives, press releases, blog posts, pitches, FAQs, etc. Brief spokespeople and staff interviews. Manage and cultivate partnerships with tech, consumer, local and mainstream reporters.
Devise and execute creative public relations campaigns to drive awareness, usage and excitement around YouTube’s products and features.
Land stories that highlight the magic and usefulness of YouTube’s products, meeting our consumers where they are, such as local and consumer outlets.
Work closely with the YouTube product and engineering teams to distill technical concepts into easy-to-understand communications materials that showcase innovation behind the scenes.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments including Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and leadership teams to influence and execute strategic plans and launches.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of relevant communications work experience.

Preferred qualifications:
Professional experience in a fast-paced business, media or non-profit environment.
Strong track record of creative storytelling, proactive press outreach, and building relationships with journalists and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Ability to plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously, and to influence stakeholders.
Team-player who can divvy up difficult projects and work well with a number of cross-functional teammates.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
