Just Kids Early Childhood Learning Center is a private preschool program for young children disabled and non-disabled, birth to five years of age. Just Kids supports families in their role as primary educators, caregivers, and decision makers in the delivery of services. Our programs assist the community at large to recognize the similarities that all children, both those with and without disabilities, share, by our provision of integrated services and the inclusion of children with special needs in our programs. Centers are located in Middle Island, Lindenhurst, William Floyd School District, Cutchogue, Hampton Bays, Longwood and Baldwin School District.
Summary: Assist the Principal in leadership, direction, and supervision of the building and all its programs. The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal and the Assistant Executive Director. The position includes the duties and responsibilities below and any other functions as assigned by the Principal and the Assistant Executive Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with leadership for the development, implementation, improvement and evaluation of the instructional program-ensuring conformance to New York State Learning Standards, Just Kids Mission and Philosophy, OCFS Standards, NYS Special Education Policy and Regulations, Early Intervention Policy and the general policies and procedures of Just Kids Learning Center.
Responsible for the supervision of Teachers and Teacher Aides, and One-to One aides.
Implementation overseer of the Creative Curriculum
Review IEP goal tracking
Coordinate staff assignments with the Principal to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies regarding ratio.
Interview potential classroom staff with the Principal.
Meet and Coordinate with Therapeutic staff as necessary.
Assist the Principal with student enrollment.
Meet with the Principal as needed but not less than one time per week to discuss building level issues.
Meet with other building Principals, Assistant Principals, and the Assistant Executive Director for strategic planning meetings monthly.
Attend and participate in all scheduled Leadership meetings.
Confer with teachers, therapists, and parents concerning educational and behavioral concerns in school.
Review with the Principal all materials requests and teacher reimbursement requests.
Conduct performance evaluations and teacher development plans for all teachers with input from the Principal
Assist with the provision of professional development and staff training for all teachers including OCFS mandated training hours.
Review all staff generated paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Assist the Principal with orientation of new staff and families.
Coordinate Clinical Support Staff.
Cooperate and conduct self in a manner appropriate for preschool.
Adhere to Just Kids program specific policies and procedures.
Maintain child, family, and employee confidentiality.
Demonstrate flexibility as well as the ability to multi-task and stay calm in a crisis.
Assist in making reasonable accommodations for special groups, i.e., hearing impaired, physically challenged and/or visually impaired.
Exhibit the "At Your Service" attitude, i.e., smiles, uses positive eye contact, is open, friendly and approachable to staff, families and visitors. Works collaboratively and is respectful of others.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
A Master’s Degree (minimum): appropriate NYS administrative certificate in Educational Administration or enrollment in an Administrative Program.
A minimum of three years preschool experience and experience with reflective supervision.
Such alternative to the above qualifications as Just Kids may find applicable.
